Opening their 2026 campaign in London, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues rowing team claimed five podium finishes at the Western Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Taking to the top step, the Varsity Blues crew of Dayun Kong, Guinevere Reaume, Sophie Corradini, and Zoe Blundell delivered the fastest time on the day in the women's lightweight 4+.

The duo of Kong and Reaume also combined for a second place finish in the women's lightweight 2x. Additional second place results included Jackson Bon in the men's open 1x and the pair of Bon and Richard Magony in the men's open 2x.

Rounding out the Top 3 results for U of T, Liam McFarland and Noah Shew combined for a third place finish in the men's lightweight 2x.

Next on the competition schedule for the Varsity Blues rowing team will be the annual Head of the Trent. The prestigious Peterborough regatta is set for Saturday, Oct. 3.
