The No. 6 nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team played to a 2-2- draw on Friday (Oct. 9) afternoon at Varsity Stadium.
The Blues found themselves behind the eightball early in the match as Dylan Seha found the back of the net in the 2
nd minute. The blues found their footing as the first half progressed, getting chances in the offensive zone but were unable to find an equalizer before the break.
In the second half, the Blues found themselves behind by two goals as Oily Sankar took advantage of a misstep in the defensive second to extend the Voyageurs lead. On their heals, the Blues continued to fight back and cut Laurentian's lead in half in the 57
th minute as fourth-year defender Toby Richardson banged in a header from fourth-year forward Andrea Schifano's corner. Schifano would later connect with another header off a corner to draw the score even in the 76
th. First-year defender Luca Madden was the goalscorer for the Blue and White, netting his first OUA goal in the process.
From there, the Blues controlled the pace of play, looking poised for an equalizer while creating dangerous chances up until the final whistle as the game concluded in a draw.
