University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball setter Michael Hickey received OUA athlete of the week honours for the period ending January 18, 2026.

Going up against rival TMU on Friday and Saturday, Hickey guided the Blues offence to back-to-back wins on home court. The Toronto native registered 40 assists in both games, averaging an outstanding 11.4 assists per set across the two matches. He added five kills and four aces to the Blues offensive totals, while also recording 13 digs. Notching 40 or more assists in seven matches this season, Hickey now ranks third in the OUA averaging 9.75 assists per set and fifth in total assists at 468. These marks are while competing in two less matches than the players ahead of him on the leaderboard.

The No. 7 nationally ranked Varsity Blues men's volleyball team remain at home next welcoming the Brock Badgers to Goldring Centre on Friday (Jan. 23) night.
