The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team fell 2-1 to the UBC Thunderbirds in the 2025 U SPORTS men's soccer championship consolation final on Saturday (Nov. 8) night at Varsity Stadium.

In a scoreless first half, first-year Blues goalkeeper Charles Donvito was strong in goal with three key saves to keep the game scoreless through 45 minutes of play. In the 56^th minute, UBC broke the deadlock as Nicolas Nadeau set up Kyle Dent for the first goal of the match. The Thunderbirds added to their lead in the 62^nd minute with a goal from Henri Godbout.

A late push from U of T saw third-year midfielder Mehdi Essoussi set up fourth-year midfielder Michael Osorio for his second goal of the U SPORTS championship in the 89^th minute. Osorio would be named a U SPORTS Championship all-star for his week-long efforts. Despite the late push from the Blue and White and fourth-year goalkeeper Alex Lin making the best of his four second half saves in extra time; the Blues fell to the Thunderbirds in their season finale.

The Blues finish the 2025 season as OUA champions with a sixth place finish at the 2025 U SPORTS men's soccer championship and will look to build off their success in 2026.
