The No. 4 nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team defeated the Nipissing Lakers 4-0 in the final 2025 regular season match on Sunday (Oct. 12) afternoon in North Bay, Ont.
The Blues finish the regular season with a 10-1-1 (W-L-T) record and go into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the OUA East with a first round bye.
Four different Blues contributed to the score sheet as second-year midfielder Niklas Hallam opened the scoring in the 41
st minute, giving the Blues a 1-0 lead going into halftime. The Blues struck twice in the first 15 minutes of the second half, fourth-year midfielder Michael Osorio doubled the lead in the 55
th minute and first-year standout Jordan Grey capitalized on a pass from Hallam as U of T took a commanding 3-0 lead. In the 82
nd minute, fifth-year defender Nicola Russo set up third-year midfielder Andrea Schifano for an insurance marker.
Second-year goalkeeper Filip Zendelek and first-year goalkeeper Charles Donvito combined for eight saves as U of T capped off the regular season with a five game win streak and three straight clean sheets.
The Blues will now turn their attention to the postseason. They'll host a quarter-final match at Varsity Stadium on Saturday (Oct. 18), tickets will be available at
