BLUES FALL TO MARAUDERS

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team dropped a 32-3 decision to the McMaster Marauders on Saturday, September 7 at Ron Joyce Stadium.

With the loss, the Blues fall to 1-2 and the Marauders improve to 1-2. Toronto and McMaster are tied for seventh place in the OUA standings.

On the field, Toronto took an early 3-0 lead in the first quarter with a 39-yard field goal by Sam Henke. However, McMaster quickly responded with a field goal of their own, tying the game 3-3 at the end of the first quarter. McMaster took control in the second quarter, scoring 17 unanswered points to take a 20-3 lead into the half. Following the break, the Toronto defence played tough, limiting the Marauders to a field goal and a conceded safety. But with the U of T offence stalled, the Marauders offence broke through in the fourth to score again and secure the victory.

Despite the loss, Toronto quarterback Kaleb O'Donoghue threw for 203 yards, with wide receiver Chris Joseph catching six passes for 124 yards. Meanwhile, the Blues defence was led by defensive back Kinsale Philip and linebacker Ryan Collins, who tallied seven and six tackles, respectively. Collins was also one of a trio of Blues including Dylan Fallacollita and Owen Cassie who registered sacks.

The Blues will look to return to .500 as they next host the Carleton Ravens (0-3) next Saturday, September 14 at Varsity Stadium. Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tickets for the home game are available at varsityblues.ca/tickets, while the game will also be streamed online via oua.tv.
