Competing in another three matches this weekend at Mayfair Lakeshore, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's squash team earned wins over McGill, Guelph, and Ottawa.
The trio of victories improve the Blues record to 5-0 early in the season, now sitting in a tie for first place with the Queen's Gaels.
Toronto began their weekend with a 6-1 team win over McGill, highlighted by several exciting matches including 11-9, 11-9, 11-9 three-set win for Jaivir Dhillon and a thrilling 11-6, 10-12, 11-5, 11-4 four-set victory for Usman Khan.
The Blues then picked up a 7-0 sweep of Guelph to close out their Saturday (Nov. 2) schedule. Blues veterans Ali Shalaby and Will Harris led the way in the No. 1 and No. 2 slots as Toronto earned six 3-0 wins and a default victory.
Facing off with the Gee-Gees on Sunday (Nov. 3) morning, U of T closed out their weekend with a 6-1 victory. The Blues standout performer proved to be Tegbir Singh Chandhok who battled to 11-5, 11-3, 11-4 wins in the No. 5 position.
Toronto will continue their competition schedule next heading to London to face off with the Western Mustangs and Laurier Golden Hawks on Sunday, Nov. 17. The pair of matches will mark the final two for the Blues in 2024, with the teams varsity schedule picking back up following the December break.
