The University of Toronto Varsity Blues softball team traveled to Ottawa for the 2024 CCSA championships, October 11-13.
 
Toronto earned their berth following their 2023 OUS title win. The Blues went 2-1 in round robin action, finishing second in their pool.
 
U of T defeated the UBC-Okanagan Heat 6-5 in their opening game on Friday afternoon, highlighted by a Jamie Cho double to score two runs in the come-from-behind win in the top of the sixth.
 
The Blues went onto top the Ottawa Gee-Gees 10-3 on Friday evening. Down 3-2 heading into the seventh inning, Toronto exploded for eight runs to secure the win.
 
Toronto wrapped up pool play with a tough 13-6 loss to the eventual champion Durham Lords. The Blues then met the Humber Hawks in quarter-final action, falling 10-2 to the eventual silver medalists.
 
The Blues are right back at it as they head to Napanee to defend their OUS title next weekend (Oct. 19-21).
