BLUES PUSH GRYPHONS TO THE BRINK

Hitting the road for the first time following a three-game homestand, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team fell by the narrow margin of 10-7 versus the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday (Sept. 30) afternoon in Guelph.

After a season opening win in Sudbury versus the Laurentian Voyageurs earlier this month, Toronto has found themselves on a four-game slide. However, the Saturday road contest saw the Blues offence come back to life as they tallied the most goals in a game since that season opening victory.

Leading the charge for the Blues was Daniel Clarke and CJ Sarvinis who each scored a pair of goals. Jonathan Murawsky, Neil Bains, and Benny Konishi rounded out the scoring for Toronto with an individual marker each. U of T also saw outstanding goaltending from Sam Lehman, facing one of the toughest opponents in the CUFLA West division.

The Blues will look to get back in the win column next Satruday, Oct. 7 when they face the Nipissing Lakers on home turf at Varsity Arena. Action begins at 6 p.m., with tickets for the home game available at varsityblues.ca/tickets.
