The Varsity Blues men's hockey team fell to the Brock Badgers in a 4-3 loss on Friday (Feb. 3) night at Varsity Arena.
With the loss, the Blues sit fifth in the OUA West division with 26 points and a 12-10-2 record.
WHAT HAPPENED: It was another strong start for the Blues in the first period with third-year forward Ross Krieger scored his team-high 11
th of the season five minutes in. Cole Thiessen scored for the Badgers five minutes later to even up the game. U of T left the first with the lead after a Nick Grima power play goal with just over a minute remaining in the period.
In the second, the Badgers scored back-to-back goals from forward Frankie Pucci and Justin Brack to give Brock their first lead of the game. Forward Steven Elliott tied up the game for the Blues early in the third period to tie up the game. With just under a minute remaining in the game, Jacob Roach scored to win the Badgers the game.
Blues starting goalie Jett Alexander made 37 saves through the 60 minutes.
UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Saturday, February 4 when they face off against the Laurier Golden Hawks at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
