BLUES DROP TIGHT PLAYOFF CONTEST

In their first postseason game since 2017-18, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell to the Wilfrid Laurier Goldenhawks 77-74. 

TORONTO STATS: Veteran guard Inaki Alvarez led all players with 24 points. The Altafulla, Spa. native recorded a game-high five steals, and added four rebounds and four assists.

Third-year guard Callum Baker had 18 points in the loss, adding five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Third-year forward Anthony Daudu dominated on the glass securing a career-high 18 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Blues got out to a strong start, ending the first quarter up 21-18.

Aided by a strong offensive effort from second-year forward Lennart Weber, the Blues held their lead into the half (41-37).
 
The third quarter saw a revived Goldenhawks team battle back to take a 62-57 lead, before ultimately winning the game in the fourth, 77-74.
