Jett Alexander made a career-high 41 saves in leading the Varsity Blues men's hockey team to a 4-1 victory over the TMU Bold in Game 1 of the OUA playoffs on Thursday (Feb. 16) night at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
WHAT HAPPENED:Â The U of T defence stood tall in the first period, with the Bold sending all they could their way. Â Alexander held the Bold scoreless in the first, making 13 saves in the process.Â
The offence showed up for both teams in the second period. The Varsity Blues opened the scoring first with third-year forward Peyton Reeves shooting through a screened goalie two minutes into the second. The Blues doubled their lead a few minutes later when second-year forward Cole Purboo scoring on the power play. Bold forward Patrick Fellows added one for TMU halfway through the second.

The third period was one to remember for Blues forward Nicholas Wong, who scored back-to-back goals at the midpoint of the period to solidify the victory for U of T.
