Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

BLUES WRAP UP REGULAR SEASON WITH WIN OVER BADGERS

In their final regular season game, the Varsity Blues men's hockey team edged out the Brock Badgers 3-1 on Saturday (Feb. 11) night at the Canada Games Park.

With the win, the Blues finish the regular season in fifth place in the OUA west division with a 14-10-3 record and 27 points.

U of T will face off against the TMU Bold in the opening round of the OUA playoffs. The playoff schedule has yet to be determined.

WHAT HAPPENED: It was a back-and-forth first period between the Blues and Badgers, but both teams were held scoreless thanks to the two goalies holding their ground. The story was the same in the second period, with both teams trying to make most of their chances but were held off the scoresheet. Blues starting goalie Rayce Ramsay made 13 saves in the second period.

The offence showed up in the third period. Jake Cella opened the scoring for the Badgers seven minutes into the period. With seven minutes to play, defencemen Emmett Serensits tipped in a pass from Graham Dickerson to tie up the game.

U of T took the lead with four minutes left after forward Owen Guy converted on the three-on-one. Guy would add his second of the game on the empty net in the last minute.

Ramsay finished the game with 32 saves through the 60 minutes.
