In their first regular season game of the year, the Varsity Blues men's volleyball team fell to the McMaster Marauders 3-2 (25-19, 21-25, 19-25, 25-15, 12-15) on Saturday (Nov. 4) night in Hamilton, Ont.Â

John Dunning led the way for the Blues this afternoon. The fourth-year outside hitter recorded 10 points from eight kills, one service and two block assists. Just behind him was Jayden Talsma, who finished the game with nine points, recording eight kills and a service ace. Connor Vanderkuip finished the game with eight points, including six kills and a team-high two service aces.Â

It was a team effort on the defensive end for the Blues, with Kenneth Mann recording nine digs, and Talsma and Michael Hickey finishing with six digs each. Hickey set the Blues up offensively in their tightly contested matchup, recording 27 assists in five sets.
