The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team earned a 7-3 win against the Western Mustangs on Thursday (Oct. 19) night at Thompson Arena in London, Ont.

After opening their regular season 3-1, the Varsity Blues grabbed their second road win against the Mustangs.Â

In the first period, the Blues opened the scoring early with a goal from third-year forward Owen Robinson to take the lead.

Their momentum carried into the second, with another goal early on from captain Cole Purboo, for his third of the season. Later in the period, second-year forward Jacob King scored his first goal of the game. He would add his second later in the third period.

With moments left in the second period, forward Nick Wong added to Toronto's lead with their fourth goal to finish the period 4-0.

In the third period, making his season debut, forward Zack Smith put himself on the score sheet with a goal of his own. With minutes left in the game, Robinson scored his second of the game, leading the Blues to a 7-3 victory.

In net, goaltender Jett Alexander recorded 24 saves for his fourth win of the season.
