Biography

Junior Hockey: Played four seasons with the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL, helping the team to the 2016-17 Memorial Cup championship title...in his four seasons with the Spitfires, Purboo never missed a game, racking up 85 goals and 85 assists for 170 points, along with a 132 penalty minutes, in 280 games....named an assistant captain and earned the "Hardest Working Spitfire" award after notching 20 goals, 24 assists, 44 points and 16 penalty minutes in 59 games in 2019-20...attended NHL development camps with both the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks.

Varsity

2023-24:
Dressed for 28 regular season and 2 playoff games...registered 23 points (12G, 11A) during the regular season...led the team in goals and ranked third in points...tied for the team lead with both 3 power play goals and 2 shorthanded goals...recorded a season-high 2 points four times...notched a 10-game points streak (9G, 8A) from Oct. 11 to Dec. 1...added a team-high 4 points (1G, 3A) in the postseason...received the OUA West Randy Gregg Award.

2022-23: Dressed for 26 regular season and 6 playoff games...led the team in scoring with 13 goals and ranked second with 21 points...led the team with 4 power play goals...recorded a season-high 3 points (2G, 1A) vs Lakehead on Nov. 19...led the team with 4 postseason goals and co-lead the squad with 5 points in the playoffs. 

2021-22: Dressed for all 17 regular season games and 1 playoff game...scored 3 goals and added 10 assists for 13 regular season points... scored the Blues lone playoff goal against Waterloo on Mar. 17...registered 3 multi-point games.

Personal: Uncle, Fred Murrell, was a star basketball player in the 1980s and is a U of T Sports Hall of Fame inductee...father, Wayne, played basketball for the McMaster Marauders.
