The University of Toronto Varsity Blues Women's Basketball team fell to the No. 8 Carleton Ravens 69-64 on Friday (Jan. 20) night at the Goldring Centre for High-Performance Sport.
They now hold a 4-11 record for the season, sitting fifth place in the OUA Central division.
TORONTO STATS: Fourth-year guard Ellen Ougrinov led the Blues team with 18 points including three rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Third-year guard Lauren Boers scored 12 points, along with four rebounds and one assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Blues battled against the Ravens in a tight first quarter that saw the Ravens lead 18-15. While the Blues offense was strong, the Ravens took up a three-point lead 32-29 at the halfway point. In the third quarter, the Blues trailed the Ravens 53-47. With a slow start to the final quarter, the Blues offense was able to generate momentum late in the game with assistance from Ougrinov and Boers. Ultimately, the Blues fell in a narrow match-up 69-64.

st to face off against the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees at the Goldring Centre Kimel Family Filed House. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00pm.
