Continuing their exhibition schedule, the Toronto Varsity Blues were back on the ice Friday night taking on the Concordia Stingers.
Hosting the team from Quebec, the Blues jumped on the board first but, in the end, would drop a 6-4 decision.
After Peyton Reeves broke the deadlock for Toronto, the goals then came fast and furious. The two teams would combine for four goals less than six minutes apart, with Concordia going out in front 3-2.
Holding that lead after one period of play, the Stingers would strike again just 24 seconds in to the middle frame. The Blues would respond though. Only a minute and half after the Concordia goal, Ross Krieger would pull Toronto back within one, trimming the lead to 4-3. Despite still 18 minutes to go in the period, and both teams playing at a frantic pace, the scoring would dry up for the remainder of the frame.
To start the third, it was the visitors striking early again. This time, just 12 seconds had elapsed from the beginning of the period before Concordia found the back of the net. In typical fashion of the game though, the Blues would answer again. This time it was Kyle Potts finding the back of the net for Toronto, and trimming the deficit back down to one. Unfortunately for the Blues, that would be as close as they would get, as the Stingers would seal the game with their sixth goal, coming with just under five minutes to play.
With a goal and an assist, Kyle Potts led the offence on Friday, while Jett Alexander made 30 saves in goal.
Next up for Toronto is a trip down south. The Blues will visit Quinnipiac University on October 1
st, before heading to RPI on October 2
