BLUES DOUBLED UP BY QUINNIPIAC

Beginning their exhibition road trip south of the border, the Varsity Blues paid a visit to the Quinnipiac Bobcats Saturday afternoon in Hamden, Conn.

Although, the Blues made a push, an early deficit proved too much to over come in a 4-2 loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Bobcats established a lead early on goal from CJ McGee a little over five minutes into the contest. Doubling their lead just before the intermission, Quinnipiac got a goal from Zach Metsa in the final two minutes of the opening frame.

Continuing to build their lead, the Bobcats scored a third goal just over a minute into the second. From that point on though, the Blues starting turning momentum in their favour. Midway through the frame Owen Guy put the Blues on the board.

Trying to pull within one through much of the third, the Blues were finally able to score their second goal, when Cole Purboo found the back of the net with just eight seconds remaining. Toronto though, was unable to find any late magic in that final shift, and instead, the Bobcats added one more goal at the buzzer.

UP NEXT: The Blues will continue their southern tour with a game against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on October 2 at 3:00 p.m in Troy, N.Y.
