SUNDAY SWEEP FOR SOFTBALL IN WINDSOR

The Varsity Blues softball team had a successful day in Windsor on Sunday winning both games of their double-header against the Lancers.

In the first contest, the Blues used three run innings in both the fourth and sixth innings to help guide them to an 8-5 victory. 

Toronto racked up 13 hits with Isabella Trakosas, Madison Espinola, Joely Ma, and Amelia Collet each recording multiple knocks. Trakosas led the way with three hits in four at bats.

Erin Sullivan got the start on the mound going six innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out one.

Finishing off the sweep, the Blues took the second game over Windsor 7-3.
 
Toronto opened up an early lead in the second inning when an error scored one run.
 
The Blues then took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning, when Amelia Collet doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
 
Toronto then put up three runs in the sixth inning. Contributing to the big inning for the Blues included Trakosas, Collet, and Madison Espinola, all driving in runs in the frame.
 
Ma led the Varsity Blues to victory in the circle. Ma went seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out three.

Next up for the Blues is a double header against Ottawa on September 24 at Dieppe Park.
