Playing host to their cross-town rivals, the Toronto Varsity Blues picked up a pair of victories on Sunday against the York Lions.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Working the bulk of the game on the mound, Paul Kosztown shut down the Lions for five innings, allowing just two hits in the opening game of the double-dip.
At the plate, the Blues were led by Brendan Colley and Sam Castro-Rojano, who each recorded three rbi's.
Although York was able to put up six runs in the first two innings, that did not faze the Blues, who scored in every inning except for the fourth, to pick up the 9-6 win.
In the second game of the day, the Blues offence came out flying scoring 10 runs in the first two innings, en route to a 10-2 victory. Kevin Angers knocked in three runs, while Castro-Rojano and Will Yang each drove in two.
UP NEXT: The Blues will prepare to host the Carleton Ravens on September 24 for a double-header at Dan Lang Field.
