The Varsity Blues men's soccer team drew 1-1 against the Trent Excalibur on Saturday (Sept. 17) afternoon at Varsity Stadium.
 
The Blues are now 1-0-2 to start the 2022 OUA season. 
 
The Blues opened the scoring 20 minutes into the game with a goal from midfielder Leo Nakabayashi, his first of the season. 
 
The Excalibur tied the game with a goal from defender Joel Boateng in the 90^th minute. 
 
The Blues had a total of 16 shots, with nine being on target. Forward Faris Ammari had a team high five shots on goal. In his first start of the season, goalie Alexander Lin stopped four shots. 
 
The Varsity Blues return to action Sunday, September 18 when they face-off against Ontario Tech at Varsity Stadium. Kick off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
