BLUES DOWN TMU, RECORD THIRD CONSECUTIVE SWEEP

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Varsity Blues baseball team opened their home schedule with an 8-6 and 6-1 win against the Toronto Metropolitan Bold on Saturday, September 17 at Dan Lang Field. 
 
With the win, the Blues record their third-straight consecutive sweep improving to 6-0 on the season.

Toronto 8, TMU 6

The Blues exploded for five runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by second-year outfielder Owen Taylor's triple.
 
Fourth-year catcher Will Brooks and first-year pitcher Tyson Espiritu Santo lead the Blues with two RBI's each.

First-year pitcher/catcher Ethan Kwong hit the hill for the last four outs of the game, securing his third save of the season.

Toronto 6, Laurentian 1

The Blues impact was immediate, recording three runs in the first inning. The Blues doubled their lead in the fifth inning, thanks to RBI's from Brendan Colley, Matt Myhal, and Joon Choi.

Second-year pitcher Kento Moriyoshi was on the mound for game two, allowing zero runs through six innings, while fellow second-year Connor Broughten closed the game, allowing one run.

UP NEXT: The Blues next play on Sunday, September 18 in a double header against the York Lions in Vaughan. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
