BLUES SWEEP SERIES AGAINST LAURENTIAN

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Varsity Blues baseball team opened their season with a 7-6 and 15-3 win against Laurentian on Saturday, September 10 in Sudbury. 

Toronto 7, Laurentian 6

In the first inning, the Blues jumped out to a 4-0 lead. 

The Voyageurs would try to crawl their way back in the third inning with two runs, but the Blues would push back with three runs in the next inning. 

While, the Voyageurs made it a one-run game, closer Ethan Kwong shut the door in the sixth and seventh inning to lead the Blues to their first win of the season. 

Toronto 15, Laurentian 3
The Blues exploded for nine runs in the first inning to run away with the lead. The Blues would add four runs in the second inning, with the help of a base clearing double by Joon Choi. 

Blues rookie Paul Kostowniak pitched three and 2/3 innings in relief to get his first OUA win. 

UP NEXT: The Blues next play on Sunday, September 11 against McMaster in Hamilton, Ont. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m and 3 p.m.
