The Varsity Blues women's volleyball team delivered a 3-0 sweep of the Nipissing Lakers on OVA Day at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Before the game, the Blues also celebrated the three graduating seniors on the team, Sophia Currier, Hayley Goodwin and Jenna Woock.
TORONTO STATS: The Blues were led by one of their seniors, Jenna Woock, as she finished with a game-high 13 points off of 11 kills, one service ace and one solo block. Rookie Julia Murmann chipped in with 10 points from eight kills and two service aces, while also providing strong defence with a game-high 17 digs.
Outside hitters Asya Dogruer and Hope Kotun notched seven kills each in the victory.
In their final regular-season games as Varsity Blues, libero Sophia Currier had 10 digs, while setter Hayley Goodwin facilitated the offence with 32 assists.
Toronto was efficient on offence, hitting .361 as a team, as well as getting 10 aces from the service line.
UP NEXT: The Blues will enter the playoffs as the first seed in the OUA East division and will take on the fourth-place finisher of the OUA East division.
