The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team fell, 69-58 to the York Lions on Saturday, March 12 at York University.
With the loss, the Blues finish the season in eighth place in the OUA East Division, with a 2-13 record.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
For the first time this season, fourth-year forward Jessica Muha led the Blues, with 14-points. The Montreal, Que. native also had four rebounds and two assists in what was her last game for the Blues.
Third-year guard Ellen Ougrinov also tallied double-digit points (12-points), while recording five rebounds and two assist in the process. Fellow guard, Lauren Boers had 11-points, four rebounds and three assists in the loss.
In her last game with the Blues, veteran guard Christine Jurcau played 39-minutes, recording nine points, three steals, two rebounds and one assist.
The Blues led the Lions in the first-quarter 18-14. By the half, the Lions had battled back to lead the Blues 32-31. Through the third, the Blues would pull ahead (54-53), but ultimately fell short 69-58.
The Lions were led by fifth-year guard, Emma McCamus who recorded 21-points, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
