Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team downed the York Lions 80-71 on Saturday, March 12 at York University.
With the win, the Blues move into playoff position and a sixth-place tie with the Nipissing Lakers in the OUA East Division (5-10).

Should the Nipissing Lakers lose their tie vs. the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on Sunday, March 13, the Blues will be the OUA East's sixth seed heading into the playoffs.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Second-year guard Inaki Alvarez led the Blues with 17-points on the night. The Altafulla, Spain native also tallied three rebounds, two assist and a steal.
Two other Blues also recorded double-digit points in the win. Fourth-year guard Evan Shadkami had 16-points, five rebounds and an assist, while third year forward Somachi Agbapu had 10-points and led the Blues with seven rebounds.
The Blues held the lead through the first-quarter (23-20) and pulled away in the second (38-27). The third-quarter saw more of the same with the Blues up 53-52, before ultimately winning the game 80-71.
The Lions were led by fifth-year guard, Chevon Brown who recorded 23-points, two assists and two steal in the loss.
