The Toronto Varsity Blues secured the top-seed in the OUA's East division on Saturday, February 26. Improving to 10-0, the No. 4 Blues defeated the York Lions in three straight sets (25-22, 25-21, 27-25).
TORONTO STATS:Â Leading the troops on Saturday was fourth-year kinesiology major, Hope Kotun. Using her strong attack, Kotun tallied 15 kills and accounted for 17.5 Toronto points. The outside hitter also lent a big hand on defence accumulating 13 digs.
Further helping strengthen the Blues offence, both Anna Maria Gadomski and Asya Dogruer finished the match with eight kills each.
Fifth-year middle, Jenna Woock finished the contest with seven kills, to go along with four block assists.
Varsity Blues setter, Hayley Goodwin recorded a team leading 35 assists.
UP NEXT:Â The Blues will now have the next few days off as they prepare to host the Nipissing Lakers for two matches on March 4 and March 5 to round out their regular season schedule. First serve on March 4 is set for 6:00 p.m. at Goldring Centre.Â
