The Varsity Blues women's hockey team won 1-0 against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks
on Saturday, December 3 in Oshawa, Ont.
With the win, the Blues move back into first place in the OUA East division with a 11-2 record and 33 points. The Blues also hold a game in hand over the second-place Nipissing Lakers.
WHAT HAPPENED: Despite dominating the first period offensively, the Blues would have to wait until the second period for their first goal. Following key passes between second-year standouts Ali McKeown and Abby Holland, first-year forward Isabella Greco buried her opportunity to put the Blues up 1-0.
A strong defensive showing from the Blues ensured they would their 1-0 lead through the remainder of play.
Fifth-year goaltender Madeline Albert faced 23 shots in the contest, saving all 23 of them.
