Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

OFFENCE ON POINT IN WIN OVER WARRIORS

The Varsity Blues men's hockey team beat the Waterloo Warriors 4-0 on Friday (Dec. 2) night in Waterloo, Ont.

The Blues now hold an 9-5-1 record on the season, and sit third in the OUA west division with 19 points.

WHAT HAPPENED: Despite a back-and-forth period between the Blues and Warriors, the Blues came out with the lead after a Cole Purboo pass deflected off a Warriors skate into the net.
Firing the puck past a screened Warriors goalie, second-year forward Ben Woodhouse doubled the Blues lead halfway through the second period.

Third-year forward Ross Krieger would score halfway through the third period, after a cross-ice pass from Billy Moskal. Purboo would finish the scoring in the game with an empty net goal, which would be his second of the game.

Blues starting goalie Jett Alexander finished the game with 20 saves, collecting his third shutout of the season.

UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Saturday, December 3 when they faceoff against the Laurier Golden Hawks. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
