WOMEN'S WATER POLO CLAIMS NINTH CONSECUTIVE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Varsity Blues women's water polo team continued their dominance in the pool once again on Sunday, claiming a sixth straight NCWP banner, and ninth straight league championship overall.

After securing their spot in the NCWP final yesterday afternoon, the Blues rolled to a 17-1 victory over the Carleton Ravens on Sunday in Hamilton, Ont., in the gold medal match.

The Blues established control of the match for the very beginning, jumping out to a 6-0 lead after one quarter of play. The team then extended their lead to 10-0 at the half. Keeping the pressure on, Toronto went up 15-0 after three, before three more goals were scored in the final session.

Lauren Dundee led the Blues with five goals. Hannah Levin tallied three times, while Vega Jones and Devon Lynch each scored twice. Meanwhile, Chloe MacVicar, Julia DeCaire, Rose Esplen, Emma Beniot and Sarah August all scored once.

The victory capped off a perfect 2022 NCWP season for Toronto.
