Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

BLUES FALL TO LANCERS IN TIGHT GAME

The Varsity Blues men's hockey team fell 3-1 to the Windsor Lancers on Sunday (Nov. 27) afternoon at Varsity Arena.

The Blues now hold an 8-5-1 record on the season, and sit third in the OUA west division with 17 points.

WHAT HAPPENED: A back-and-forth first period saw both teams' penalty kill make an impact, with all three first period goals being scored short-handed. The Lancers opened the scoring early, five minutes into the period, with a shorthanded goal from Barrett Dachyshyn. Mason Kohn would score for the Lancers thirty seconds later to double their lead. Billy Moskal would answer back with a breakaway goal of his own for the Blues at the halfway mark of the first period.

Dachyshyn would score on the empty net to add his second of the game for the Lancers with 10 seconds to go.

The goalies were key for both teams in the second and third period keeping the game within reach for the two teams. Blues goalie Jett Alexander made 30 saves through the 60 minutes.

UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Friday, December 2 when they faceoff against Waterloo. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
