Box Score The Varsity Blues have secured their place at the 2022 OUA championship.

Thanks to an 11-1 victory over the TMU Bold Sunday afternoon in the central regional final, the defending OUA champions will continue their quest for a repeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Although TMU was able to jump out to an early 1-0 lead, the Blues quickly erased that deficit, and then some. An rbi single from Will Brooks tied the score at one apiece, before
Toronto took their first lead of the game on a Niko Kekatos rbi double.

The Blues were able to extend their lead to 3-1 when William Yang crossed home plate on a TMU error.

After Toronto had gone out in front 4-1, the biggest blow of the game came off the bat of Niko Kekatos. The third-year infielder smacked a three-run home run to put the Blues up by six.

Continuing to pour on the offence, the Blues would tack on two more runs on a double by Matt Myhal, before two more runs came in on a Brendan Colley single to put Toronto up 10 and end the game.

UP NEXT: Now heading to the OUA championship, the Blues will prepare for the event which will begin on October 14.
