It was a strong weekend of play for the Toronto Varsity Blues from September 30 – October 2 as they took part in the Humber College tournament.
Going a perfect 4-0 over the three days, the Blues went on to win the tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Blue started the tournament with a 3-0 sweep of the Windsor Lancers on Friday night.
Heading in to a two-game Saturday, the Blues continued to roll. Starting with a match against Cegep Limoilou, Toronto battled through a hard-fought five-set match to win 3-2. The Blues then followed up that victory with a 3-1 win over Western to clinch the top spot, and their place in the final.
Meeting the Mustangs once again on Sunday afternoon in the tournament final, the Blues replicated their 3-1 victory over the team from London, Ont.
Fifth-year outside hitter, Mitchell Neuert was named the player of the game for the final game.
UP NEXT: The Blues will continue their exhibition schedule on October 14 when they host the Windsor Lancers at 7:00 p.m.
