Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

BLUES FALL IN REMATCH AGAINST WINDSOR

The Varsity Blues men's hockey team lost against the Windsor Lancers 4-3 in overtime on Saturday (Oct. 29) night in Windsor, Ont.
 
With the loss, they currently sit seventh in the OUA West standings with a 2-3-1 record.
 
WHAT HAPPENED:  Defence was a focal point in the first period with both blue lines play a strong defensive game. Windsor opened the scoring seven minutes into the second with a goal from forward Matt McNamara. The Blues would answer with a goal of their own less than a minute later from first-year forward Zack Smith.
 
Halfway through the second period, Windsor forward Anthony Stefano would combine with forward Mason Kohn to give the Lancers the lead. The Blues would come storming back to score back-to-back goals from Ross Krieger and Kyle Potts, giving the Blues the lead.
 
In the third-period, the Lancers would tie the game once again, with forward Grant Spence scoring 13 minutes into the period. The game head into overtime as the Blues and Lancers were tied with three each at the end of regulation. McNamara scored his second of the game for the Lancers thirty second into overtime.
 
Blues starting goalie Rayce Ramsay finished the game with 25 saves. 
 
UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues return to action Friday, November 4th when they faceoff against the Western Mustangs at Varsity Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
