The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team fell to the McMaster Marauders 3-1 in exhibition action on Friday, October 28, at Burridge Gym in Hamilton.
The Blues fought hard through four sets, narrowly dropping the game 25-23, 23-25, 26-28 and 20-25.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Blues attack was once again lead by third-year left side, Martin Licht. The Toronto, Ont. native registered 15 kills and one aces totaling 16-points. Licht also registered eight digs in the loss.
Fourth-year left side Evan Falardeau and fifth-year outside hitter Mitchel Neuert played pivotal roles in the Blues offence. Falardeau tallied 10 kills and one aces for 12-points, while Neuert had seven kills, two aces and one solo block for 10-points.
Setting up the Blues attack, setter Davis Young and libero Daniel Turor combined for 16 digs, while Young finished with a game-high 38 assists.
UP NEXT: The Blues open their 2022-23 regular season on Saturday, November 5 as they take on the Queen's Gaels in Kingston. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
