BLUES EDGED OUT BY ALBERTA IN FINAL PRE-SEASON GAME

Box Score The Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell to the University of Alberta Golden Bears 100-79 in an exhibition game on Friday (Oct. 21) night at Goldring Centre.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Golden Bears took the lead after the first quarter 28-19. The Blues would cut into Alberta's lead through the second (52-46). Alberta continued to lead after the third quarter (72-62), before closing out the game for the win (100-79).
 
The Blues were led by second-year forward Lennart Weber, who scored 17 points, along with four rebounds and two assists. Guard Iñaki Alvarez also recorded 17 points, two rebounds and an assist. 
 
Third-year guard Callum Baker finished the game with 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds, including five defensive rebounds. 
 
UP NEXT: The Blues start the 2022 OUA season on November 4 against the Brock Badgers at Goldring Centre. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
