The Varsity Blues men's hockey team fell 2-1 to the TMU Bold on Thursday (Oct. 20) night.

The Blues head into the weekend with a 1-2 record. They sit seventh in the OUA east division with two points.Â

WHAT HAPPENED:Â Â Defence was a focal point in the first period, with key saves made by Blues goalie Jett Alexander and Bold goalie Kai Edmonds.

TMU opened the scoring with a goal from forward Jackson Doherty halfway through the second-period. With six minutes to go, TMU extended their lead with a goal from forward Kevin Gursoy.Â

With four minutes to go, Blues forward Nicholas Wong scored his first goal of the season.

Alexander finished the game with 26 saves through the 60 minutes.Â

UP NEXT:Â The Varsity Blues return to action Saturday, October 20th when they faceoff against the Western Mustangs. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
