Preparing themselves for the upcoming OUA regular season, the Varsity Blues hit the road Sunday afternoon to take on the Waterloo Warriors in an exhibition contest.
Although the Blues had three scorers in double-figures, it was Waterloo coming out on top, 60-51.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Throughout the early stages, both teams exchanged baskets, with Waterloo taking a small 11-9 lead. At the end of the first, the Blues had equalized the score, 15-15.
In the second quarter, Waterloo began to put a couple of small runs together and take a six-point advantage into the half, leading 28-22.
The Blues battled back in the third, trimming the deficit to 37-33 heading into the final frame.
In the final quarter of play, Waterloo began to pull away and was able to finish off the 60-51 win.
UP NEXT: The Blues next exhibition contest will take place at home on October 15 when they host the Western Mustangs. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
