The Varsity Blues picked up a pair of wins Saturday afternoon in Kingston, Ont.

Visiting the Queen's Gaels, the Blues defeated the homeside 6-4 and 9-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED: In the first of the two games, the Blues jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a rbi single from Amelia Collet in the top of the third.

After the Gaels pushed across four runs in the fourth, the Blues began to battle back. Toronto quickly tallied a pair of runs in the fifth on a Collet double and a Janelle Hodge sacrifice fly.

Still trailing 4-3 entering the final inning of play, the Blues flipped the script, with a three-run inning. With two outs in the inning, Toronto tied the game on a Queen's error before Beth DeConinck doubled home the go-ahead run and then Amanda DeConinck singled home a sixth run for the Blues.

Allowing two earned runs, Katie Humhej picked up the win on the mound throwing all seven innings while striking out seven.

Playing the second contest, the Blues once again fell behind in the early stages, but were able to mount a comeback.
Despite Queen's going up 4-0 after an inning and a half of play, the Blue got themselves on the board in the bottom of the second on a rbi single from Madison Espinola.

In the bottom of the third, the Blues pulled within one after Hodge tripled home a pair of runs.

Toronto would go on to take the lead in the fourth after three consecutive Blues came in to score on passed balls.

Increasing their lead in the fifth, Espinola singled in another run. Toronto's eighth run of the game would then come into score on an error.

Rounding out the scoring, Amanda Deconinck registered an rbi single in the sixth.
Erin Sullivan recorded the win on the mound going four innings. Joely Ma picked up a three inning save with thee perfect innings of work.

UP NEXT: The Blues will travel to Ottawa on October 16 for their final two games of their regular season.
