The University of Toronto Varsity Blues softball team swept the TMU Bold 7-0 and 6-2 on Saturday, October 1 at Dieppe Park.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The contest was highlighted by a five run fourth inning, led by singles by Mihret Eliasziw and Madison Espinola and a homerun by Janelle Hodge.
The Blues totaled nine hits. Erin Sullivan and Eliasziw each recorded multiple hits. Espinola had the most chances in the field with five.
Katie Humhej toed the rubber for the Blues. The right hander lasted all five innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero.
Kiyah Hurry started the game for TMU Bold. The hurler went four innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.
Tomotsugu went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead TMU Bold in hits.
The Blues did not commit a single error in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Blues opened the scoring in the second inning as Lauren Howorth doubled on the first pitch of her at bat, scoring one run.
The Blues tallied 12 hits in the game. Madison Espinola, Howorth, Julia Kurzrock, and Amanda DeConinck all tallied multiple hits. DeConinck, Kurzrock, Howorth, and Espinola lead the Blues with two hits..
Erin Sullivan recorded the win for Toronto. Sullivan went seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, striking out one and walking one.
Brooklyn Nash took the loss for TMU Bold. The hurler allowed 12 hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out one and walking one.
TMU Bold totaled nine hits in the game. Nash and Quinn Danniels each had multiple hits for TMU Bold.
