TAYLOR’S WALK OFF HIGHLIGHTS SWEEP OF GAELS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team defeated the Queen's Gaels 6-5 and 6-1 on Sunday, September 26 at Dan Lang Field.
 
With the win, the Blues improve to 8-0 on the season.
 
Toronto 6, Queen's 5
 
It came down to the wire, with the Blues taking the victory on a dramatic walk-off by rookie Owen Taylor. U of T held off a three-run rally by the Gaels in the top of the ninth as Taylor singled to drive Michael Deluca home.
 
Dean Christidis was on the hill for the Blues. Christidis lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and zero runs, while striking out five and walking one.
 
U of T totaled 10 hits in the game with Niko Kekatos and Jakob Cellupika each leading the Blues with two.  
 
Toronto 6, Queen's 1
 
The Varsity Blues put up three runs in the fourth inning, thanks to singles by Will Yang and Owen Taylor.
 
Maxwell Denison was on the mound for U of T, allowing two hits and one run over five innings, striking out two.
 
Lem Beach went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Blues in hits.
 
UP NEXT: The Blues head to Sentinal Park in Toronto to take on the Rams on Saturday, October 2.
