The University of Toronto Varsity Blues softball team wrapped up their 2021 campaign with a fourth-place finish at the OIWFA championship on Sunday, October 24 in Brampton, Ont.

The Blues finish the season with an impressive 11-4-1 record and the fourth-place standing marks their best finish since 2016.

Katie Humhej pitched both games for the Blues, striking out 11 on the day.

OIWFA Bronze-Medal Game: Brock 2, Toronto 0

Humhej allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.
Â
Amanda DeConinck went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Blues in hits.
Â
The Badgers scored single runs in the top of the fourth and fifth innings to secure the win.

OIWFA Semifinal: Western 3, Toronto 0

Humhej went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out eight. She also led the Blues at the plate, going 2-for-3 in hits.

Western scored two off of a Toronto error in the bottom of the third and added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth.
