The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team secured their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over the Rams on Saturday, October 2 at Downsview Park.
HOW IT HAPPENED: A hard-fought first half saw the Rams lead the Blues in shots 5-1, but left both teams scoreless.Â
The second half would see the Rams momentum continue leading the Blues in shots 8-4. Before Blues second-year forward, Matthew Roberts would find first-year forward, Colin O'Dwyer to give the Blues the lead (72').
First-year goalkeeper, Jacob Gundermann faced five shots in the contest stopping all five to secure his first clean sheet of the season.
The match would end with seven yellow cards given between the two schools.
