The University of Toronto Varsity Blues softball team defeated the Rams 9-2 on Sunday, October 17 at Dieppe Park.
With the win, the Blues wrap up the regular season with a 10-1-1 record and finish in first place in the OIWFA East division.
The Blues secured the victory thanks to five runs in the second inning, led by a triple by Jessica Tamayo, a single by DeConinck, and an error on a ball put in play by Sullivan.
Sullivan led U of T to victory in the pitcher's circle. The righthander surrendered two runs on four hits over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Rachel Seguin threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Blues tallied 10 hits, with Mihret Eliasziw and Tamayo leading the way with two apiece.
UP NEXT: The Blues head to Napanee, Ont., for the OIWFA regional qualifier next Saturday, October 23. They will open against the No. 2 Ottawa Gee-Gees with a direct path to the regional final on the line.
