AKINDURO SETS BROCKPORT FACILITY RECORD, RELAYS SHINE IN WINDSOR

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Windsor Team Challenge and Brockport Golden Eagle Multi this past weekend (Feb. 7-9).
 
Windsor Challenge (Results):
 
Toronto's relays shone in Windsor. Elizabeth Martin, Katrina Innanen, Maya Ryan and Onome Gbinje won the women's 4x200 relay in 1:40.89 seconds. Martin also finished third overall in the women's 60m in 7.57 seconds.
 
Ryan, Avery Garrett-Patterson, Fiona Huang and Innanen won the women's 4x400 relay in 3:53.93, while
Carson Bradley, AJ Bimm, Emmett Bravakis and Jack Berkshire won the men's 4x400 relay in 3:21.23.
 
Garrett-Patterson also finished second overall in the women's 600m in 1:32.73, while Berkshire was second across the finish line in the men's 300m, clocking a time of 34.13 seconds.
 
Alexzandra Throndson was second in the women's pole vault, becoming only the second Varsity Blue to ever clear four meters (4.02m). Bryn Walsh placed fifth (3.72m).
 
Craig Klomp notched a fourth-place finish in the men's 1000m in 2:28.89, while Bimm was seventh in 2:30.83.
 
Adam Exley placed fifth in the men's 60m hurdles in 8.33 seconds, while Christina Esposito (2:55.55) and Somerset Jarvis (2:59.63) were sixth and eighth in the women's 1000m.
 
James Kanu, Cameron Reyes, Jake Leung and Jacob Martins placed sixth in the men's 4x200 relay in 1:31.50.
 
Frank Vreugdenhil finished sixth overall in the men's weight throw (12.85m), while Jacob Martins (11.71m) and Mojtaba Mehry (11.40) were eighth and ninth. Julian Romano threw 13.24m, good for a seventh-place finish in the men's shot put, while Mehry was ninth (11.69m).
 
Rohan Nowbotsing (3:55.84) and Jake Carroll (3:55.87) finished eighth and ninth, respectively, in the men's 1500m.
 
Brockport Golden Eagle Multi & Invitational (Results):
 
Sophomore standout Femi Akinduro set a new facility record, winning the men's triple jump with a personal best jump of 15.03m. Linden Liles-McCurdy placed fourth (13.95m).
 
Amanda Black finished third in the women's pentathlon with a score of 3197 points, while Michelle Corallo was seventh (2981). Black finished third in the high jump (1.57m) and long jump (5.26m), fourth in the 60m hurdles (9.51), fifth in the shot put (9.71m) and seventh in the 800m (2:42.09).
 
Phillipe Johns placed fourth in the men's heptathlon with 4258 points. Johns finished second in the 60m dash (7.35), 60m hurdles (8.87) and shot put (6.02m), fourth in the 1000m (2:49.94), eighth in the pole vault (3.10m), ninth in the long jump (6.02m) and 12th in the high jump (1.57m).
 
Hannah Rolfe also placed fourth in the women's high jump, clearing 1.59m.
