The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team fell 99-69 to the Saginaw Valley Cardinals on Sunday night (Jan. 5) in exhibition action in Michigan.
The Blues got off to a slow start, trailing 50-18 at halftime, but rebounded to win the second half, 51-49.
TORONTO STATS: Third-year guard Evan Shakami led the Blues with 23 points, going 7-for-11 from beyond the arc, while adding four assists on the night. Second-year wing Eli Mouyal added nine points and two assists, while rookie forward Anthony Daudu notched eight points and three boards in the loss.
UP NEXT: The Blues resume regular season play next Friday, January 10 when they host the Western Mustangs at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Tip off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
