BLUES HOST MUSTANGS SATURDAY

The nationally-ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's volleyball teams host the Western Mustangs in our Under Armour Games of the Week this Saturday, February 1 at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
 
The women start the action at 12 p.m., with the men to follow at 2 p.m. Advance tickets are on sale here. Both games will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.
 
The No. 4 Varsity Blues women are 10-2 and in second place in the OUA East division, but hold three games in hand and the head-to-head tiebreaker over the No. 3 Ryerson Rams (13-2).
 
Toronto is coming off a narrow 3-2 loss at Queen's this past Saturday and will look to bounce back versus the OUA-West leading Western Mustangs (9-4).
 
Fifth-year right side hitter Alina Dormann leads the Blues offensively. The four-time U SPORTS all-Canadian ranks second in the OUA with 4.2 points per set and third with 3.39 kills per set.
 
U of T's depth is as strong as ever as middles Jenna Woock and Anna Licht, as well as left side Caleigh Cruickshank all average over 2.3 points per set.
 
The No. 8 Blues men are riding a six-game winning streak and are coming off a 3-1 upset victory over the No. 7 Queen's Gaels. Toronto sits atop the OUA East division with a 10-1 record, two points ahead of the Gaels with two games in hand.
 
Second-year left side hitter Evan Falardeau leads Toronto and ranks second in the OUA with 4.3 points per set. Fifth-year outside Chris Towe is also having another impressive season, averaging 3.2 points per set.
 
U of T's offence is run by fourth-year setter Jordan Figueira. The commerce major leads the province, averaging 9.76 assists per set, while defensively, Toronto libero Daniel Tudor ranks first in the OUA with 2.68 digs per set.
