Highlighted by a 34-32 third-set victory, the No. 8 nationally-ranked Unviersity of Toronto Varsity Blues men's volleyball team defeated the Queen's Gaels 3-1 (17-25, 25-17, 34-32, 25-21) on Saturday, January 25 in Kingston, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 10-1 and remain atop the OUA East division, having swept the season series with the second-place Gaels (9-4).

TORONTO STATS: Five Blues reached double-digit points in the solid team effort. Second-year standout Evan Falardeau notched a team-high 15.5 points off of 13 kills and 2.5 blocks, while fifth-year veteran Chris Towe had 14 points off of 13 kills and one block.

Rookie middle Benedikt Licht was a force at the net with 11.5 points off of eight kills and 3.5 blocks, with Nick Trewern adding 10.5 points off of 10 kills and an assisted block. First-year middle Jasper Neale also had 10 points on the night, totaling nine kills and one ace.

Fourth-year setter Jordan Figueira tallied 46 assists, nine digs and six points, while third-year libero Daniel Tudor had a team-high 12 digs in the win.

UP NEXT:Â The Blues are back in action next Saturday, February 1 when they host the Western Mustangs at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
