Second-year forward Lucia Plunkett scored five goals in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team to a 12-0 win over the McGill Martlets on Sunday afternoon at York University.

With the win, the Blues improve to 6-0-1 and sit atop the OUA standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Plunkett scored the first three goals of the game to give Toronto a 3-0 lead after the first quarter. Eve Carrothers, Evianne Rovers and Nicole Godman all tallied in the second frame as the Blues were up 6-0 at halftime.

Rachel Spouge netted the first goal of the second half, followed by Plunkett's fourth, while Katie Lynes and Anna Costanzo scored to put the Blues up 10-0 heading into the final frame.

Plunkett netted her fifth goal and Emily Ziraldo rounded out the scoring.

Elizabeth O'Hara and Deepi Gill split duties in goal to earn the shut out.

UP NEXT: The Blues return to action next Saturday, September 28 as they host the Western Mustangs at Back Campus Fields. Game time is set for 10:45 a.m.
